This vibrant market is a fun way to spend a Sunday morning, gathering ingredients for a very local picnic lunch or why not stay and sample the street food on offer- the aromas make it difficult to resist. No one will leave hungry!

Browse the stalls for antiques, jewellery and unique crafts as the live music brings the town to life. Many local shops and cafes are open on the day too.

Why ‘Treacle’?

Macclesfield is known as Treacletown referring to the story of  when a horse drawn wagon overturned, spilling its load of treacle onto the cobbles.  There are still lots of sweet things on offer!
